According to Chen (2016), Gee (2015), and Molle (2015) second language literacy can be effectively developed with the help of the texts. Proposed poster visually presents this idea and takes a discourse analysis as a tool to enhance students’ reading and communication skills, as well as understanding of a different culture, i.e. cross-cultural bridging. Primarily, with the help of discourse analysis tools, designed by Gee (2014), and tests on the text’s readability, the poster discusses advantages of the “Generation Gap” text for the Ukrainian ESL context. Secondly, the poster provides sample lesson plan and activities for its implementing into the ESL classroom. Finally, the poster presents detailed information on the text’s vocabulary unknown to the Ukrainian native speaker. To summarize, the poster provides succinct information on the discourse analysis of the text “Generation Gap” and its implementation into the Ukrainian ESL classroom in order to enhance cultural communication.
